Heavy Rain Expected Across Five Provinces Starting January 8

COLOMBO (News1st): The Department of Meteorology announced that increased rainfall is expected in several provinces starting January 8.

At 3:30 p.m. today, the Department issued a special advisory, highlighting upcoming weather conditions.

According to the advisory, a low-level atmospheric disturbance currently located over the Bay of Bengal, towards the southeast of the island, is likely to intensify further in the coming days.

As a result, from January 8 onwards, rainfall is expected to increase across the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, Uva, and Central Provinces, the Department stated.
