Rs.150 Billion Allocated for Disaster-Affected Road Renovation; Minister Rathnayake Calls for National Unity

COLOMBO (News1st): Minister of Transport, Highways, and Urban Development Bimal Rathnayake says that 150 billion rupees has been allocated to reconstruct roads damaged by disasters.

The Minister explained that while plans were previously underway for a central government initiative to develop rural roads, those projects have been put on hold to prioritize urgent disaster relief and infrastructure repair. 

Minister Rathnayake assured the public that the government is committed to a rapid recovery process to rebuild the nation’s infrastructure.

Minister Bimal Rathnayake said while citizens are free to support any political party during election the current crisis requires everyone to put extend support keeping politics aside. 

He urged all parties and citizens to unite and work together to help the country recover from the disaster.
