Matugama Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Arrested Again

COLOMBO(News 1st); Kasun Munasinghe, the Chairman of the Matugama Pradeshiya Sabha, which is controlled by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, has been arrested again.

This is in connection with an incident where the Secretary of the Pradeshiya Sabha was blocked from entering her official room.

The Secretary of the Matugama Pradeshiya Sabha filed a police complaint this morning, alleging that the Chairman had forcibly occupied her office.

The Chairman, under the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, was previously accused of assaulting the Secretary of the Pradeshiya Sabha.

She was injured in that incident and received hospital treatment.

After surrendering to the police over this latest incident, the Acting Magistrate of Matugama ordered his release on two surety bonds of Rs. 500,000 each.
