Train Services along the Batticaloa and Northern Railway Lines to Resume Today

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Department of Railways says that train services along the Batticaloa railway line will resume from today.

Train operations to Batticaloa were suspended after a section of the railway track in Gallella between Polonnaruwa and Manampitiya was damaged due to the disaster.

As a result, trains were unable to operate up to Batticaloa.

Meanwhile, train services along the Northern Railway Line between Kankesanthurai and Anuradhapura will also resume today.

According to the Department of Railways, the Yal Rani train will be operated along this route.

The train will depart Kankesanthurai daily at 6:00 a.m. and arrive in Anuradhapura at 10:17 a.m.

It will depart Anuradhapura at 2:30 p.m. and reach Kankesanthurai at 6:53 p.m., according to the Department.
