UNICEF Supports Sri Lanka’s School Restoration After Weather Disaster

COLOMBO (News 1st) - UNICEF has extended support to help restore schools damaged by the recent disasters.

A meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s Office between Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amasuriya and UNICEF representatives, during which the government outlined its efforts to safeguard students and rebuild the school system, as well as the challenges it faces in doing so.

The UN Resident Coordinator, Marc-André Franche, also met with the Prime Minister and commended the government’s swift and organized response in providing relief to those affected by the disaster.
