COLOMBO (News 1st) - A special cargo aircraft carrying humanitarian aid from Germany and Luxembourg for people affected by recent disasters arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake, this morning.
The consignment, valued at 500,000 euros and weighing approximately 69,000 kilograms, includes essential relief items such as tents, kitchen equipment, mattresses, and water purification equipment.
The aid was received at the airport in the presence of German Deputy Ambassador to Sri Lanka Sarah Hasselbarth, officials representing the European Union, and a group of officers from the Disaster Management Center.
The assistance is expected to provide significant relief to communities impacted by the disaster.
