COLOMBO (News 1st): The National Transport Commission (NTC) says, that a special bus service will be introduced from today for passengers holding train tickets.
Director General of the NTC, Dr. Nilan Miranda says, that passengers are allowed to travel on these buses using their train tickets on bus services operating from Kandy and Kurunegala.
Accordingly, special bus services have already commenced from Kandy and Kurunegala railway stations to Colombo Fort.
Further he stated, that three buses will be deployed from Colombo Fort to Kandy and Kurunegala at 4.15 p.m. today (8th).
In addition, the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has launched special bus services for train travelers in areas where rail services have been suspended.
Passengers are permitted to travel on regular SLTB buses using monthly train season tickets, excluding SLTB super luxury services.
