Health Ministry Deploys Mobile Medical Teams to Flood-Affected in Stranded Areas

COLOMBO The Ministry of Health says that mobile teams have been deployed to examine the health status of individuals who have been displaced or are stranded in villages due to the disaster.

Deputy Minister of Health, Prof. Hansaka Wijemuni, said that these teams are also providing necessary medicine to people suffering from Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs). 

Deputy Minister Hansaka Wijemuni urged that groups, including doctors, who voluntarily come forward to hold clinics for the displaced population, should contact the District Director of Health Services office to obtain a suitable location to conduct those operations. 

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister Dr. Hansaka Wijemuni further said that the necessary medicine for controlling Leptospirosis has been issued to every Public Health Inspector (PHI).
