President Calls For Immediate Disaster Response As Heavy Rains Approach

COLOMBO (News 1st); President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has instructed district representatives to take urgent measures to prevent loss of life and provide relief to communities affected by severe weather conditions expected over the next two to three days.

The directive was issued during a special discussion held this morning at the Parliament complex to review the emergency disaster situation and relief services triggered by worsening weather patterns across the country. The President urged Members of Parliament to personally visit their districts and assess the needs of affected communities. He emphasized convening District Coordination Committees and Regional Development Committees to ensure timely delivery of essential relief.
