Narcotics Bureau Probes Eppawala Principal Drug Case

Colombo (News 1st); Further investigations into the drug trafficking case involving the principal of a school in Eppawala have been placed under the supervision of the Police Narcotics Bureau.

The principal and two suspects are currently in the custody of the Anuradhapura Divisional Crime Investigation Unit. 

The Magistrate's Court of Thambuththegama recently granted permission to detain and question them until November 12. 

Accordingly, the interrogations will be conducted by the Police Narcotics Bureau.

A statement has also been recorded from his wife, a member of the Peliyagoda Urban Council, who said she was not aware of the drug trafficking operation.

Police seized 1 kilogram and 185 grams of heroin from the principal at the time of his arrest.
