Four Killed in Road Accidents Across Sri Lanka in 24 Hours

Four people, including an 8-year-old child, have died in separate road accidents over the past 24 hours.

An 8-year-old child was killed after being hit by a tractor while crossing the road in Welikanda, Polonnaruwa. The tractor driver has been arrested.

On the Kandy-Jaffna road, a 70-year-old was hit by a three-wheeler and died on the spot in Diyabubula.

In Thanamalwila, a 45-year-old man died after a tipper truck collided with his van. 

The van driver, initially admitted to Thanamalwila Hospital, passed away after being transferred to Hambantota Hospital. The tipper truck driver has been taken into custody.

In Kotawila, Kamburugamuwa, an 82-year-old man died when a tractor collided with his motorcycle. The tractor driver has been arrested.
