Firearm, Ammo Cache Found in Kahatagastigiliya

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's police have recovered a locally-manufactured firearm and a stockpile of ammunition from a private property in the Kiri Ibbaewa area.

According to police sources, the cache includes:

A 12-bore firearm
19 empty 12-bore cartridges
19 live T-56 rounds
10 ball bearings, suspected to be used in improvised explosive devices

The discovery was made following a tip-off provided by the landowner last night, leading authorities to the hidden stash.
