Saudi Passenger Released on Bail After Mid-Air Assault on Flight Crew

COLOMBO (News 1st); A Saudi Arabian national has been released on bail after being arrested for allegedly assaulting a female flight attendant aboard a SriLankan Airlines flight from Riyadh to Colombo on October 26.
The suspect was arrested based on a complaint filed by SriLankan Airlines.
Following his arrest, the suspect was produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court, where he was granted bail.
The court ordered his release on a cash bail of Rs. 15,000 and a personal surety of Rs. 200,000.
The case is scheduled to be taken up again on November 3.
