COLOMBO (News 1st); A key suspect linked to the Ganemulla Sanjeewa murder case has been arrested—the boat operator who allegedly helped Ishara Sewwandi, the prime suspect, flee to India.
The suspect is a resident of Jaffna.
During interrogation, it was revealed that Sewwandi traveled by boat along with two other individuals. One of them is currently in remand custody for a separate crime, while the other remains at large.
Meanwhile, another suspect named Anandan, who reportedly assisted Sewwandi in escaping to India, was found in possession of two modern pistols.
Investigations indicate that Anandan has previously facilitated the illegal sea escape of several organized crime figures to India.
