Medicine Price Control Framework Gets Green Light

COLOMBO (News 1st); A key step toward regulating the prices of pharmaceuticals in Sri Lanka has been taken, with the Parliamentary Advisory Committee on Health and Mass Media granting approval for a gazette notification containing the necessary directives.

The decision was reached during a meeting chaired by Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, who emphasized that the pricing mechanism was formulated after extensive consultations with all stakeholders, including pharmaceutical importers.

The gazette notification is scheduled to be presented to Parliament for formal approval on October 21.
