COLOMBO (News 1st); Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya returned to Sri Lanka Wednesday morning, concluding her official visit to China where she participated in the Global Leaders’ Summit on Women 2025 held in Beijing.
The Premier departed Colombo on October 11 to attend the summit, which brought together world leaders to discuss advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment.
During her stay, Dr. Amarasuriya engaged in several high-level bilateral discussions, including meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, focusing on strengthening cooperation between the two nations.
Her itinerary also included a visit to the Chinese Communist Party Museum in Beijing, followed by an inspection of the Sri Lankan Embassy in the Chinese capital.
The Prime Minister wrapped up her official engagements Tuesday and arrived back in Sri Lanka early Wednesday.
