15-Year-old killed in Gampaha road accident

COLOMBO (News 1st); A 15-year-old boy has died in an accident at the Veediyawanta junction in Udugampola, Gampaha.

It is reported that the boy was returning home after attending a private tuition class when he was hit by a lorry from behind.

Meanwhile, another accident occurred along the Hatton-Maskeliya main road near Dikoya Base Hospital, where a cab overturned into a ditch.

Authorities say the crash was caused by slippery roads due to heavy rainfall.
