Major Cities on High Alert as Dengue Threat Looms

COLOMBO(News 1st);The National Dengue Control Unit has urged the public to destroy mosquito breeding sites during the rainy season.

Public Medical Consultant of the National Dengue Control Unit, Prashila Samaraweera stated that Colombo, Gampaha, Jaffna, and Batticaloa districts have been identified as high-risk areas for dengue.

So far this year, a total of 38,702 dengue cases have been reported.

Twenty-one people have died from dengue complications.
