Sri Lanka and Ukraine Reaffirm Support in UN and Beyond

COLOMBO (News 1st): In a cordial telephone conversation, Sri Lanka’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment, Arun Hemachandra, engaged with Mariana Betsa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Head of the Ukrainian National Commission for UNESCO.

The two officials reflected on the strong cooperation between Sri Lanka and Ukraine, particularly in multilateral forums such as the United Nations, where both countries have recently supported each other’s candidatures.

Deputy Minister Hemachandra briefed his counterpart on recent developments in Sri Lanka and expressed interest in further strengthening bilateral ties.

The discussion emphasized a shared commitment to deepening collaboration in areas of mutual interest, reinforcing the growing diplomatic relationship between the two nations.
