South Korea’s Saemaul to Resume Funding for Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News 1st); South Korea’s state-run Saemaul Undong Organization has agreed to resume financial assistance for rural development initiatives in Sri Lanka, reaffirming its commitment to international cooperation in grassroots progress.

The announcement was made during the ongoing Saemaul Conference in South Korea, which is being attended by government representatives from 46 countries. 

Representing Sri Lanka at the summit are Dr. Chandana Abeyratne, Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government, and S. Alokabandara, Secretary to the Ministry.

Minister Abeyratne revealed that the organization has pledged a minimum grant of USD 100,000 for a selected rural development project in Sri Lanka.
