Ex-Local Councilor Arrested For Violent Altercation

COLOMBO (News 1st); A former member of the Agunakolapelessa Pradeshiya Sabha has been arrested in connection with an alleged assault on a man.

The victim is currently receiving treatment at Hambantota Hospital, police confirmed.

The incident reportedly occurred yesterday evening during a dispute at a location where the former councilor operates a scrap collection business. 

According to police sources, the altercation escalated when the victim visited the premises, leading to the assault.
