Central Crime Investigation Bureau Probes Illegal Jeep Importation

COLOMBO (News 1st): Two individuals, have been arrested for the illegal import and fraudulent registration of two jeeps.

The arrests followed raids in Menikhinna and Wattegama, conducted by officers of the Central Crime Investigation Bureau in Colombo based on received tip-off.

According to police, that the suspects had imported and submitted false data at the Department of Motor Traffic to register the vehicles.

The suspects were remanded until the 15th after being produced before the Teldeniya Magistrate’s Court.

Further investigations are ongoing by the Central Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) in Colombo.
