COLOMBO (News 1st); Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for a complete overhaul of outdated global frameworks to better reflect the aspirations of the Global South.

“Keeping the aspirations of the Global South confined to outdated frameworks is a grave injustice to future generations,” Modi declared during his address at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit. “We cannot show the multicoloured dreams of the new generation on the old black-and-white screen. The screen will have to be changed.”

Modi emphasized that the SCO has the potential to become a guiding force for multilateralism and a more inclusive world order, urging member nations to embrace reform and innovation in global governance.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a powerful address at the 25th SCO Heads of State Council Summit, urging member nations to unite against terrorism and embrace a more inclusive and equitable global order.

Modi outlined India’s approach to the SCO through three foundational pillars: Security, Connectivity, and Opportunity. He emphasized that security, peace, and stability are essential for development, but warned that terrorism, separatism, and extremism remain major threats to humanity.
