Final Rites for The Anunayake of the Asgiri Chapter of the Siam Sect, on July 24

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Anunayake of the Asgiri Chapter of the Siam Sect, The Most Venerable Anamaduwe Sri Dhammadassi Anunayake Thero, passed away early yesterday morning, concluding his exemplary life journey of 67 years.

Last night, the mortal remains of the late Anunayake Thero were brought to the historic Liyangastenna Purana Viharaya in Gohagoda, where they have been placed for public respect and veneration.

This evening, the mortal remains will be taken to the Asgiriya Maha Viharaya in Kandy. 

They will be kept at the Udugama Sri Buddharakkitha Memorial Hall until the 24th of July.

The cremation of the mortal remains of the late Anunayake will be held on the 24th of this month at the Asgiriya Police Grounds in Kandy, with state sponsorship.
