COLOMBO (News 1st); Four suspects have been arrested in connection with the abduction and murder of a 22-year-old man in the Koskaella area of Kahawatta.

The incident, which occurred on June 30, involved a group of armed individuals who posed as police officers and forcibly entered a residence in Andana, Koskaella.

They abducted two brothers and a friend, transporting them in a jeep to a remote location where they were shot.

One of the victims, Iranta Suranjana, succumbed to gunshot injuries, while another sustained serious wounds. The elder brother managed to escape and alert authorities.

Following a joint investigation by the Colombo North Crimes Division and the Police Special Task Force, officers recovered the jeep, a car, and three motorcycles allegedly used in the crime.

The jeep had been repainted to avoid detection, and all vehicles bore fake license plates. They were found parked at a residence in Homagama.

One of the arrested suspects was found in possession of 197 grams of heroin and 100 grams of crystal meth (Ice). Police believe the murder was orchestrated from Dubai, adding an international dimension to the case.

Investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the criminal network and its overseas links.
