Dengue Awareness Week Reveals Widespread Mosquito Breeding in Schools

COLOMBO (News 1st) - According to the National Dengue Control Unit, 185 schools have been identified as mosquito breeding grounds, following inspections conducted under the National Dengue Awareness Week.

Community Medical Specialist , Dr. Prashila Samaraweera, said that 298 schools were inspected during this period.

A total of 3,886 mosquito breeding sites have been identified under the National Dengue Prevention Week program.

Dr. Samaraweera further noted that legal action has been taken against 100 of these premises.
