Keheliya’s Daughters & Son-in-Law in Custody

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has arrested two daughters, and a son-in-law of former minister Keheliya Rambukwella.

The arrests are in relation to an ongoing investigation into money laundering.

Among those taken into custody are the former minister’s daughters — Chamithri Jayanika Rambukwella, Amali Nayanika Rambukwella along with Isuru Pulasthi Bandara Polgasdeniya, Amali’s husband,

A statement from CIABOC said that investigations are centered on the assets valued at over Rs. 134 million, a luxury residence worth Rs. 40 million, and a Benz car valued at Rs. 20.5 million.

It added that 40 fixed deposits and life insurance investment plans have been suspended in relation to the investigations.

The suspects are expected to be presented before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.
