Ex-President's PR Chief Questioned for Seven Hours

COLOMBO (News 1st); Thusitha Haloluwa, the former Director General of Public Relations for ex-President Ranil Wickremesinghe, was questioned for approximately seven hours today by the Criminal Investigation Department regarding defamatory and false statements made about the President.

Thusitha Haloluwa arrived at the CID around 9:30 AM today.

A group of lawyers from the National People's Power recently filed a complaint with the CID against Haloluwa, alleging that the defamatory and false statements made about the President could severely damage his reputation and have significant adverse effects.

The complaint requested an urgent investigation and appropriate legal action against Thusitha Haloluwa for making statements that could harm the President's reputation by using his name.
