Police Spokesperson Requests Transfer Amidst Resignation Rumors

COLOMBO (News 1st); Senior Superintendent Of Police Buddhika Manathunga, the current Police Spokesperson, said that he has requested a transfer due to personal reasons. 

Until a new officer is appointed to the position, he will continue to fulfill his duties as the Police Media Spokesperson.

In response to rumors about his resignation, SSP Manathunga clarified, "Once a responsibility is assigned to a police officer, there is no option to resign from that responsibility. However, I have requested a transfer for personal reasons. Until the necessary arrangements are made by the National Police Commission and other relevant institutions to appoint another officer, I will continue to carry out my assigned duties and responsibilities as the Police Media Spokesperson."
