Police open fire on stolen lorry in Kaduwela, suspect arrested

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Police opened fire at a stolen lorry from Wattala in Kaduwela.

According to the police, the lorry, which was transporting vegetables, was stolen while parked in Wattala and was heading towards Orugodawatta.

This morning, officers attempted to stop the vehicle as it was heading from Kaduwela to Malabe. However, the driver ignored orders, prompting the police to open fire.

The gunfire damaged the lorry’s tires, and the suspect was arrested as he attempted to flee the scene.
