Electricity Generation Costs Increased

COLOMBO (News 1st); Electricity generation costs have increased with the dry weather conditions.

Hydroelectric power plants currently generate 20% of total electricity during the day and 40% at night.

The Ceylon Electricity Board stated that there is more opportunity for solar power plants to generate electricity during the day.

The CEB added that this situation will continue until next April.
