New Suspect Arrested in Middeniya Triple Homicide

COLOMBO (News 1st): A new suspect in connection with the Middeniya triple homicide, has been arrested. 

The suspect, aged 45, was arrested by officers of the Police Special Task Force, in Galwadiya, Middeniya.

Four individuals have been arrested so far in connection with the incident, including a police constable.

The constable will be in remand custody until the March 5. 

The court has granted permission yesterday to detain and question the remaining suspects arrested in connection with the Middeniya triple homicide, for 72 hours.

The homicide took place on February 18, at the Kadewatta Junction in Middeniya.

Meanwhile, the Colombo Crimes Division says that continuous operations are underway to arrest the female involved in the murder of Ganemulle Sanjeewa.

Five suspects in connection with the murder of Ganemulle Sanjeewa including two police officers, have been arrested so far.

Organized criminal Sanjeewa Kumara Samararatne, known as Ganemulla Sanjeewa, was fatally shot at Courthouse No. 05 of the Huftsdorp Court Complex on February 19.
