COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Abdulla Khaleel, at the Presidential Secretariat on Thursday (20).
The Foreign Minister conveyed his country's congratulations on the victory achieved by the current government in the recent elections. He also expressed his happiness about the changes that have taken place in the country following the electoral success.
Minister Abdulla Khaleel had noted his admiration for Sri Lanka's strong recovery after the economic downturn and mentioned that the Maldives is learning from Sri Lanka’s experience in overcoming economic challenges.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives extended an invitation to President Dissanayake to visit the Maldives on an official state visit.
The President had expressed appreciation for the significant contributions made by the Maldives in strengthening the relations between the two nations.
