COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Commandant of the Police Special Task Force, Senior DIG Attorney-at-Law Waruna Jayasundara, along with five other police officers, has been transferred.
These transfers will take effect from the 12th February following the approval of the National Police Commission.
Senior DIG Waruna Jayasundara, previously in charge of the Police Special Task Force, has been transferred to serve as the Senior DIG in charge of the Eastern Province.
DIG D.P.S. De Silva has been appointed as the acting Commandant of the Police Special Task Force.
He previously served as the DIG in charge of the Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu districts.
Senior DIG W.K. Jayalath, has been transferred to the Southern Province from the Senior DIG in charge of North Western Province.
Senior DIG K. Ajith Rohana, has been transferred from the Senior DIG in charge of Eastern Province to the Senior DIG in charge of North Western Province .
Senior DIG S.W.M. Senaratne, appointed as the new Senior DIG in charge of the Uva Province, who previously served in the Southern Province.
Senior DIG U.P.A.D.K.P. Karunanayake, transferred from the Senior DIG in charge of Uva Province to the Senior DIG in charge of the Special Security Division.
DIG S.D. Wijesekera will now oversee both the Vavuniya and Mannar districts, in addition to the Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu districts.
