COLOMBO (News 1st) - A new scam involving fraudsters claiming to offer employment under the no longer valid Korean E-8 visa category has been uncovered.
The Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau has clarified that no private employment agency or individual has been authorized to provide employment or related training under the Korean E-8 visa.
The Bureau has stated that strict action will be taken against anyone involved in such fraudulent activities, regardless of their status.
The Korean E-8 visa, which is valid for only 6 months, was originally issued for short-term employment in South Korea's agricultural sector.
