Water Supply Board Plans Tariff Cuts Within a Month

COLOMBO (News 1st); The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced plans to reduce water tariffs in response to a 20% reduction in electricity tariffs. A committee has been appointed to examine the potential percentage reductions in water tariffs.

The committee's report is expected to be submitted to the Chairman of the NWSDB by Friday. Following this, the report will be presented to the relevant minister for further action. The National Water Supply and Drainage Board has indicated that the new water tariff reductions will be announced within the next month.
