Paddy Harvest for Maha Season Expected to Drop by 300,000 Metric Tons

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security, and Cooperative Development, Wasantha Samarasinghe says that the paddy harvest for this year’s Maha season is expected to be reduced by approximately 300,000 metric tonnes.

The Minister assured that the paddy harvest for the Maha season will be sufficient to meet the country’s needs for the next 7 months. 

He also stated that the government’s certified paddy price will be announced later this week.
