COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Customs has reported that approximately 1,800 containers are currently backlogged at Colombo Port.
Additional Director General and Customs Spokesperson, Seewali Arukgoda, announced that a special operation has been initiated to expedite the clearance of these containers.
The operation aims to resolve the congestion by Sunday, ensuring smoother operations at the port.
Sri Lanka Customs has announced the commencement of a four-day operation to clear the backlog of containers at Colombo Port. The operation, which began yesterday, will continue until February 2nd.
A full workforce has been deployed to expedite the removal of the accumulated containers.
Sri Lanka Customs has called on all relevant parties to provide their full support for the success of this initiative.
