Bilateral Joint Statement on President's State Visit to China to Be Issued this Evening

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that the bilateral joint statement regarding President Anura Kumara Dissanayake's state visit will be issued this evening.

The statement will include details on the discussions held between the two leaders and the Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed across economic, social, and industrial sectors.

The official meeting between President Dissanayake and Chinese President Xi Jinping took place yesterday at the Great Hall of the People in China. 

Upon arrival, President Dissanayake was warmly received by President Xi, with a formal reception ceremony that included full military honors. 

Following cordial discussions between the two heads of state, bilateral talks commenced. 

President Xi expressed China’s readiness to collaborate with Sri Lanka to usher in a new era of development. 

He emphasized the long-standing and strong relationship between the two nations, reaffirming China’s commitment to continue working closely with Sri Lanka in the future.

President Dissanayake's four-day state visit will conclude tomorrow.
