COLOMBO (News 1st); In light of the current hot weather conditions, Sri Lankan health authorities are advising the general public to avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
The Deputy Director General of Health Services, Dr. G. Wijesuriya, says that consumption of more fluids is important in order to prevent dehydration.
He adds that it is important especially for school children and elders to stay away from direct sunlight.
Dr. G. Wijesuriya advises those engaging in outdoor activities to take adequate breaks in-between, and consume sufficient amounts of fluids right throughout.
