Police Conclude Investigations into Candidates Who Failed to Submit Election Income and Expenditure Reports

COLOMBO (News 1st) -Police investigations into candidates who failed to submit their income and expenditure reports for the presidential election have been completed.

Police Media Spokesperson, Senior Superintendent of Police Buddhika Manatunga, confirmed that the reports are now ready to be forwarded to the Attorney General's Department.

A decision on onward legal action will be taken thereafter. 

13 candidates who contested the presidential election did not submit the required reports. 

A case has been filed against them under the Regulation of Election Expenditure Act.
