COLOMBO (News 1st): Public consultation on the electricity tariff revision counterproposal prepared by the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka will begin today.
The counterproposal was drafted after studying several factors, including the initial electricity tariff proposal presented by the Ceylon Electricity Board, the report on fuel prices for electricity generation presented by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, and other relevant issues.
Opinions and proposals in writing will be accepted until January 8, and oral feedback will be collected through nine sessions at the provincial level, as announced by the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka.
Written feedback regarding the proposal can be sent to [email protected].
The public can also submit written feedback on the proposed electricity tariffs via WhatsApp to the number 076 427 10 30.
Additionally, proposals can also be submitted to the Public Utilities Commission via post.
However, the Ceylon Electricity Board has proposed maintaining the current electricity tariffs for the first six months of 2025.
