Eggs To Be Sold at Rs. 30-35 During Festive Season

COLOMBO (News 1st); The All Ceylon Egg Producers Association has announced that, for the upcoming festive season, eggs will be sold at retail prices between Rs. 30 and 35.

Its Chairman Anton Appuhamy requests all retail sellers to price eggs below Rs. 35, starting today. 

He added that in 2023, eggs were sold at Rs. 65-70 during the festive season, and that however by now, the egg production has been increased, and that price levels have settled. 

Appuhamy went on to note that all egg farmers possess a surplus of stocks. 

He informs consumers that a 50g egg can be purchased at Rs. 30-32, and an egg heavier than 55g can be purchased at Rs. 33-35.
