COLOMBO (News 1st) - A wind power plant with a capacity of 120 MW is set to be built in Sampur with Indian financial assistance.
The project will be a joint initiative between the Central Electricity Authority of India and the Ceylon Electricity Board.
Secretary of the Ministry of Energy Professor Udayanga Hemapala said that the agreement will be signed after President Anura Kumara Dissanayake completes his official visit to India, which is scheduled from 15- 17 December.
This visit which follows an invitation from the President of India, marks President Dissanayake's first overseas visit since assuming office.
