COLOMBO (News 1st); President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has pledged that those responsible for committing offenses, regardless of their position or status, will face appropriate consequences.
Speaking at a meeting with government media heads, the president emphasized that the trust placed in the government by the people will not be undermined.
The president pointed out that the general public has, over the past decade, ousted successive governments due to their failure to serve the nation’s interests.
He noted that while these administrations were appointed with hope and high expectations, they often prioritized personal gains over the well-being of the people.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake acknowledged that the recent public mandate clearly signals the need for a system change. He assured the nation that his government is committed to fulfilling the people's trust and will take all necessary steps to safeguard it.
