NEC Grants Leave for University Staff, Students, and G.C.E. (A/L) Tuition Students to Vote

COLOMBO (News 1st):Chairman of the University Grants Commission has been informed to grant leave for the staff and students, enabling them to cast vote at the upcoming general election.

Private Universities and Higher Education institutions are requested to grant leave as
appropriate to the staff and students in their institutions to enable them to cast votes at the upcoming general election election as well.

Names of the youth electors who are born before 31.05.2006 and completing 18 years of age, are also registered in the electoral register and therefore, the Managers and Teachers of tuition classes are requested to conduct tuition classes without denying the students' right to cast vote at the upcoming general election.
