COLOMBO (News 1st): Acting Inspector General of Police Attorney Priyantha Weerasooriya, said that a program has been developed to be implemented at all police stations to curb crime effectively.
Addressing a meeting with the Police Officers of the Northern Province today, the Acting Inspector General of Police said that police had nabbed such criminals before and that crimes will continue to be reported in the future as well.
Acting IGP further said that officers have been informed and strengthened at the police station level to end the crime wave, and that a program has been implemented not only to apprehend those criminals according to the law but also to take necessary steps until they are brought to justice.
During the meeting, police officers were briefed on how to conduct themselves at the upcoming parliamentary elections.
