Death Sentence for Murder by Electrocution

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Galle High Court has sentenced a defendant to death for the murder of an individual using electrocution.

The sentence was handed down by High Court Judge Kavindya Nanayakkara.

The defendant was charged with the murder, which occurred on or around February 6, 2000, in the Imaduwa area. 

The prosecution alleged that the defendant had arranged for the victim to be electrocuted.

The High Court found the defendant guilty of the charges and imposed the death penalty.
