Court Rejects Bail Application for Arjun Aloysius

COLOMBO (News 1st); A Sri Lankan court has rejected the bail application submitted by Arjun Aloysius, Director of W.M. Mendis & Company, along with two others, who were sentenced to six months in prison.
The trio had sought bail following their sentencing, but the court has decided to deny their request.
W. M. Mendis and Company, Director Arjun Aloysius was sentenced to six months in prison for evading VAT payments amounting to Rs. 3.5 billion.
Two others were also sentenced to six months in prison for evading VAT payments.
The sentence was delivered by Colombo Additional Magistrate, Bandara Ilangasinghe.
