COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lankan Ambassador to Israel, Nimal Bandara, said that all flights between Sri Lanka and Israel have been suspended until October 7.

This decision follows the suspension of flight operations at Tel Aviv Airport due to Iranian attacks.

The embassy has advised individuals who had planned to travel between the two countries before October 7 to reschedule their flights.

Ambassador Bandara assured that all Sri Lankans currently in Israel are safe.

He also mentioned that preparations are in place to handle any potential emergency situations that may arise.

The Israeli government has advised its citizens to minimize travel and stay indoors as much as possible.

In anticipation of increased attacks, underground shelters, hospitals, and emergency ambulance services have been established to ensure public safety.
